Academic Support Club will be an option every day of programming (Monday - Thursday) to provide peer-driven academic assistance to help students excel in their studies. Through tutoring, study sessions, and skill-building workshops, members support each other in mastering various subjects and improving study habits. The club fosters a collaborative environment to enhance performance and encourage a culture of mutual aid. The club will be run by Ms. Hobin - our 7th and 8th grade Guidance Counselor!
Best Buddies Club will meet on Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:00 with the aim to build friendships and provide support for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through activities, events, and social interactions, members foster inclusion, empathy, and mutual understanding. The club creates a welcoming community where students can develop meaningful connections and celebrate each other's strengths. Best Buddies will be run by Ms. G (our PACES teacher) and Ms. Shellar (one of our PACES paras)!
Book Club will run on Mondays from 2:30 - 4:00. The club provides a space for avid readers to explore and discuss literature. Members select and read various genres of books, participating in thoughtful discussions and sharing perspectives. The club fosters a love of reading, critical thinking, and meaningful conversation, creating a vibrant community for literary enthusiasts. Book Club will be led by Ms. Kummer (7th and 8th grade science teacher) and Ms. Burton (one of our 6th grade liaisons)!
Competitive Cooperative Gym Games with DodgeBalls will run on Tuesdays for grades 5 and 6, and on Thursdays for grades 7 and 8. This club combines the thrill of dodgeball with teamwork and strategy. Members engage in high energy games where traditional dodgeball rules are adapted to emphasize cooperation and collective problem-solving. Through various game formats, the club promotes physical fitness, strategic thinking, and collaborative skills, teaching members how to balance competition with teamwork. Competitive Cooperative games will be run by Mr. Riley and Mrs. Clifford - our school's physical education teachers!
The Digital Arts Club will run on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:00. The club explores creative expression through digital mediums. Members work on projects involving graphic design, digital illustration, animation, and multimedia art. The club provides opportunities for students to develop their technical skills, share their work, and collaborate on innovative digital creations in a supportive and inspiring environment. Digit Art is led by Mrs. Mulledy - our school art teacher!
Diversity Club runs on Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:00. The club is an opportunity to learn about, and show allyship toward, populations of people who may be unlike oneself. We aim to provide a safe space for all students regardless of differences in identity or ability. Learning about diverse populations includes representation of individuals of varying backgrounds, cultures, races, lifestyles and expressions, differences or disabilities, with a special consideration for the challenges they face. Meetings will generally be themed around national monthly observances (i.e Hispanic Heritage Month in September, Black History Month in February, etc.), awareness days, and other holidays (i.e Indigenous People’s Day, ALS Awareness day, etc). The group thoughtfully considers presented information, hosts educational discussions, crafts, projects, and other activities with the goals of broadening our understanding of others and building community. Diversity Club is run by Ms. Jill - one of our enrichment site coordinators, and the paraprofessional in our school's transition room!
Environmental Club will run on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00. This is a club dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness. Members engage in activities such as recycling drives, campus clean-ups, and conservation projects. The club educates the community on eco-friendly practices and works to create a greener, more sustainable environment, empowering students to make a positive impact on the planet. Environmental Club will be led by Mrs. Tamulevich - one of our 8th grade science teachers!
Musical Theatre Club will run on Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:00. This club will bring the excitement of stage musicals to life through performance and production. Members participate in all aspects of musical theatre, from acting and signing to dancing and set design. With auditions, reversals, and showcases, the club offers a platform for students to explore their theatrical talents and collaborate on vibrant, entertaining performances. The News Team Club will run Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 3:00. Students who participate in the School News must be signed up for a second club that day to join with at 3:00 after the news has been recorded. The News Team is an opportunity to explore journalism and media. Members research, write, and report on school and community events, developing skills in news writing, editing, and broadcasting. The club offers hands-on experience in producing news content and fosters a passion for storytelling and accurate reporting. The School News Team is led by Mrs. Lynam - our school library professional!
Paranormal Club runs on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00. This club delves into the mysteries of the unexplained, exploring topics such as ghosts, UFOs, cryptids, and other supernatural phenomena. Members engage in investigations, research, and discussions, sharing their experiences and theories. The club will create a space for enthusiasts to discuss the paranormal and uncover the unknown with curiosity and open-mindedness. Paranormal Club will be run by Mrs. Mulledy - our school art teacher!
Pickleball Club will run on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00. This club will introduce students to the fast-paced and enjoyable sport of pickleball. Combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, pickleball is accessible to players of all skill levels. The club organizes practice sessions, matches, and tournaments, fostering a fun and active environment for developing skills and enjoying the game. Pickleball will be run by Mrs. Clifford and Mr. Riley - our school's physical education teachers!
The Run Club will take place on Mondays from 2:30 to 4:00 starting in November (at the conclusion of the Cross Country season). Run Club encourages fitness and camaraderie through regular running sessions and events. Members of all levels gather to participate in group runs, training programs, and local races. The club promotes physical health, goal setting, and team spirit, offering a supportive community for those interested in improving their running skills. Run Club will be staffed by Ms. Downey (our 5th grade paraprofessional), Ms. Donaghey (one of our 7th grade science teachers), and assisted by Ms. Ashley (8th grade ELA teacher and one of our enrichment site coordinators)!
Ukulele Club will run on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 4:00. This club invites students to explore the joy of playing this versatile and cheerful instrument. Members learn to play various songs, practice chords, and participate in group performances. The club fosters musical creativity, encourages collaboration, and provides a fun environment for students to share their love for the ukulele. Ukulele Club will be led by Mrs. Mulcahy - our school music teacher!
The Volleyball Club will run on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:00. This club strives to promote athleticism and teamwork through the sport of volleyball. Members will practice skills, participate in drills, and compete in matches. The club provides opportunities for players of all levels to enhance their game, enjoy friendly competition, and build a strong, supportive team environment. Volleyball will be run by Ms. Rowell and Mrs. Nessralla - two of the paras in our PACES classroom!

ga practices and mindfulness techniques. Members participate in sessions that promote relaxation, flexibility, and stress relief. The club provides a peaceful space for students to practice mindfulness, improve their physical health, and foster a sense of inner calm and balance. Yoga & Mindfulness will be led by Ms. Dawber (one of our ELA interventionists) and Ms. Shepardson (one of our Math interventionists)!

Chorus is available to all students interested in singing in Hanson and Whitman Middle Schools.
Drama club with Ms. Storey and Mrs. Foley
Starts at the beginning of October and runs until May. The members sign up and receive roles at the start of the year and then spend the rest of the school year working towards their final performance. Typically the show is the second week in May with three performances (Friday Night, Saturday Matinee, and Saturday Night) We have rehearsals on Mondays & Tuesdays until 3:50.
