Principal's Newsletter

September 9, 2020

Dear parents,

I hope this email finds you and your family well. We at Hanson Middle are excited that the first day of school is finally upon us. Schedules will be available on Infinite Campus today. We are unable to change Cohorts or class sections at this time. Students in Cohort A should be prepared to start in person on Tuesday September 15th and Cohort B in person on Thursday September 17. When students report for class in person, doors to the building will open at 7:30. Do not drop your student off prior to 7:30 because we need to ensure social distancing and proper supervision. Students should report to homeroom by 7:40 AM.  Students will not be using lockers and will keep all of their belongings in the classroom. As reminder, students need to wear a mask during the day and on the bus. On Tuesday Cohort B should log on at the assigned time (see below). On Wednesday September 15th both Cohort A and B will have a virtual class on Google Meets. Students should check their school email accounts for login information for both Google Meets and Google Classroom which will be sent to them from their subject teachers.

When your student is home for virtual learning, please ask them to access Google classroom and other online learning apps through Clever.com. Clever provides learners with direct links to many online resources and stores your student’s log in information preventing the creation of duplicate accounts that can be confusing. Students were using Clever last year and when we went to virtual learning in the spring. Clever allows their teachers to take attendance and see that their students have been actively learning during remote days as well.

The Wednesday Schedule for grades 6-8 will follow the following schedule. The entire Grade 5 schedule is at the end of this letter.
